The tour was great! You will have opportunities to photograph wildlife on your way to the ice. Derek, our tour leader, was very informative about the glacier. His team will assure you that you are Winter-proof and slip-free before you enter the ice. The glacier itself is also ever changing so be careful where you step. There are false powdered snow pathing that will make you think the ground is safe to step on, but do not be fooled. A small step off the trail as close to an inch can result in you falling into a 50+ ft. deep ditch. I learned the hard way when I saw my whole right leg sank in real deep in the snow by an inch of step off from the trail twice. š Aside from that, you will have a chance to observe the ice in whole as you get sled pulled by the snowmobile. I wish they had a glass frame in the front seat of the sled cause you will get a dose of the fumes from the snowmobile as it brings you to the entrance and exit of the ice. You will also be able to traverse parts of the glacier by sliding and crawling/walking through tight squeezes. As mentioned, the ice is ever changing so the photo ops of formations will be different for everyone upon their visit. Overall, the trekking is NOT strenuous and is capable for most ages.
