Mendenhall Lake Canoe Adventure

Overview
Paddle across Mendenhall Lake, navigating past icebergs, surrounded by Alaskan wildlife on an exceptionally stable, 28-foot, traditional Tlingit-style canoe, with all modern safety gear supplied. Venture within a safe distance of the awe-inspiring face of the Mendenhall Glacier and the beautiful Nugget Falls where you will hit the beach and refuel for the return paddle with an Alaskan-style snack. Due to the close approach to the glacier face, the Forest Service tightly controls the number of participants. Be one of the lucky few to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure!

This was an amazing experience!!! We had Jake as a guide and he knew so much about the area! We were in a group with a bunch of young kids for Disney fridays and he was great with them! We paddled super close to the glacier and got out at beautiful nugget falls! Easy but also can make it a workout if you want! Jake needs a raise he slayed!

we did canoe with our 4yrs and 9yrs old and it was a great experience for all of us. we did this as part of the cruise shore excursion and it was very easy to find the shoreexcursions person when we came of the cruise. The guide and the bus driver were great and provided history and facts about the glacier and the surrounding region, as well as Juneau. The lake was calm and beautiful glacier. Tour people provided the boots , life jacket and the pant to stay dry which was great. I gave 4 star because of 2 reasons, 1 is the wait time in the bus was 20mins before driving to the lake and 2nd is the nugget fall break can be little longer than 5-10 mins , we row the canoe for 5miles(round trip) all the way to nugget fall and spent hardly 10mins is not satisfied. .

Wonderful tour with Blake as canoe guide! Tour was very organized and you can’t beat seeing the glazier and waterfall so close! Our bus driver was also amazing and very informative! Highly recommend if you don’t mind rowing for about 5 miles :)
