Overview

Paddle across Mendenhall Lake, navigating past icebergs, surrounded by Alaskan wildlife on an exceptionally stable, 28-foot, traditional Tlingit-style canoe, with all modern safety gear supplied. Venture within a safe distance of the awe-inspiring face of the Mendenhall Glacier and the beautiful Nugget Falls where you will hit the beach and refuel for the return paddle with an Alaskan-style snack. Due to the close approach to the glacier face, the Forest Service tightly controls the number of participants. Be one of the lucky few to experience this one-of-a-kind adventure!

Children 13 to 17 must have a signed parental consent form to participate without a parent or guardian
Minimum weight: 40lbs
Maximum weight: approx 350lbs.
At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time

Great trip with Jake and Blake. Despite their young age these guys were very enthusiastic and knowledgable, so couldn’t have asked for a better trip. And if Jake’s mom is reading this…..good news is he hasn’t been eaten by a bear…..yet!! 😆

Great experience, (a workout too!) would definitely do again! It was fun canoeing to the glacier(if you have shoulder/arm issues- there are seats in the middle that don’t paddle), we stopped in front of the glacier then kept paddling to nugget falls where we got a small snack (would recommend eating before hand) Before we left we had access to bathrooms because you are out on the lake for a couple of hours. Was super fun- would defiantly recommend to anyone looking for something to do in Juneau!

The canoe trip was awesome, great scenery overall, and wonderful views of the glacier end of nugget falls were amazing! Staff could not hav been better. Driver David was a stellar guide on the way to and from, and he was very helpful with our plans (Sorry to miss the birthday party!). Canoe guide John was awesome and added a lot to our time on the water. Local and geological history and eagles chat were awesome !
