Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
Your guide would take you to see the beautiful iconic buttes, spires and mesas that have made Monument Valley famous on part of the 17 mile loop drive. We would then go to the back country restricted areas of the Tribal Park to stand beneath the natural arches, amp theaters and get right up close to the Anasazi petroglyphs. Our guides are so kind and would explain the traditional meanings of each location, history, and culture while answering any question that you might think of. Navajo Spirit Tours does not shy away from some of the spiritual topics that you might not hear about on a regular day. We do try our best in the short amount of time that we have with each of our guests to teach as much as we can while you are here. We do look forward to meeting you!

Our guide Will was excellent and did a great job sharing Navajo tribal culture and his life experiences growing up in a traditional hogan. The scenery was breathtaking and the tour was well-paced. We highly recommend this tour.

Don Mohs, a Navajo Spirit tour guide that became our friend, helped us take a peek into his life, culture, and history of Monument Valley. He is a wonderful, articulate storyteller. We loved his personal touches like showing us written symbols in the sand, the gentle handshake, and the meaning behind the hair styles of women. He helped us feel the strong spirit of the valley. It was a mesmerizing few hours!

We spent a wonderful day in the company of Larson, our guide. Our morning tour visited the valley and with Larson's help we viewed all the usual sights you would see on the drive through, but also visited special spots, which are not available without a guide. It is impossible to describe the majesty of the valley up close or the wonder of being close to drawings that are thousands of years old on sites that people have inhabited for all those years. Larson was knowledgeable and happy to share that knowledge with us, without a constant running patter that some guides impose upon you. It was a magical morning. The afternoon tour varied from what was planned due to a road closure, but no matter, we visited 17 room house, on a site that allowed you to imagine life in the long ago times clearly, again aided by Larson's narratives. We capped things off with a drive through a portion of the Valley of the Gods, which was well worth visiting during which we enjoyed discussing current life in the area and simply being awed by the surroundings. Kudos also must go to Meisha in the office, who patiently helped us plan things, and cheerfully helped me solve a problem I caused myself by originally booking the wrong date. She was always responsive (email recommended) and very helpful in all regards. A pleasure to work with. These were real people, really interested in helping you understand and enjoy your experience. Highly recommended. Take a private tour if you can manage it, you will not regret the expense.
