Within minutes of departing, we’ll be into the heart and soul of the sacred, historical, and stunning Napali Coast, keeping our eyes peeled for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, turtles, and sea birds. With forward-facing seating, bathrooms, and a fresh-water shower, our vessels offer more creature comfort than many other raft-style boats. Not recommended for individuals who have or have had back problems, recent injuries or surgeries, or suffer from severe motion sickness (no refunds are given for sea sickness). Seasickness is best prevented with an over the counter remedy.
This is an adventure. Ocean conditions can vary and may turn rough at times. It may not be suitable for some folks (all physically challenged individuals are subject to Captain’s discretion).
If you do not have your prescribed medication with you, i.e. Inhalers, EpiPens, diabetic medication and/or any other medications taken daily, you must reschedule your tour for another day.
All tour routes and destinations are subject to change without notice. Ocean conditions can and will sometimes turn rough. Snorkeling depends on ocean conditions.
Cancelled tours by Holo Holo Charters are fully refundable or gladly rescheduled.
“No shows” or any cancellations are subject to a 100% charge of the total fare including tax.
Children must be at least 5 years old
Non-swimmers are not allowed in the water.
All tours are “Bare-Foot”. Passengers will remove their shoes prior to boarding. Only Orthopedic/Diabetic exceptions will be made at Captain’s direction.
You should bring your own towels, sunscreen, a light jacket, and camera. We will provide everything else.
Spray-on/aerosol sunscreen is a safety hazard and may not be used on board the vessel. We encourage using reef-friendly sunscreens.
No smoking of any kind on board the vessel or on the dock.
We do not land on shore.
Do not park at the harbor or bay. Please use Holo Holo parking lot only or your car will be towed. Place parking pass in a visible location inside your car.
We are not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen items.
We reserve the right to refuse service.
Drones/unmanned aircraft are not allowed on board the vessel.
Our vessels are equipped with sensitive marine heads (toilets) that will clog if any foreign objects are flushed. If you flush something other than what your body produces and the toilet paper we provide, you may be responsible for the cost of repair.
No coolers or alcoholic beverages allowed on board.
Due to vessel transfers, guests should be prepared to wade in the water and be able to assist themselves onto vessel.
Full-face snorkel masks are not allowed, guests are required to use traditional two-piece snorkel and mask sets that are provided by us or they may bring their own.
Guests are required to complete a digital health waiver as well as a COVID-19 health screening prior to proceeding on tour.
As a company that puts sustainability at the forefront of goals, we request you bring your own reusable water bottle with you on tour.

What To Expect

Holo Holo Charters

Tour Kauai’s Na Pali Coast aboard a High Speed Raft. The adventure begins when you leave from the shore of scenic Hanalei Bay and we shuttle you by dinghy to your rigid hull inflatable raft which is anchored just offshore. There, you’ll do a “dry-transfer”, stow your gear, grab a seat and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.

Minutes after leaving the bay, the spectacular Na Pali Coast comes into view and you see why its dramatic cliffs and beaches have enchanted painters, authors and travelers for centuries… and we’re just getting started!

Na Pali Coast

As we travel down the coast, your crew and Captain entertain your imagination with stories of the Hawaiians who once made this coast their home. From sea-level you really get a feel for the tremendous scale of Na Pali. Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles and seabirds which are often seen on our tours. Depending on the ocean conditions the day of your raft tour, we’ll stop and snorkel at one of several protected and shallow areas which will be teeming with tropical fish. Fins, goggles (with corrective lenses if you need them), snorkels, and flotation aids are all provided. If you’re new to snorkeling, our crew will be on-hand to provide instruction and pointers so you can get the most from your adventure. After you have a chance to snorkel and relax on the Na Pali Coast, we’ll serve a tasty sandwich lunch before we head back up the coast to Hanalei Bay. Expect to get wet and bring a lightweight jacket.

We did the morning Na Pali Snorkel Adventure out of Hanalei Bay in late July with Holo Holo, and the trip was fantastic. The rigid hull inflatable was the perfect boat for this trip - large enough that my wife and I were able to sit on bench seats that offered full back support while the kids spent part of the trip sitting on the side to get a taste of the 'inflatable adventure', yet small enough to get into most of the caves. Casey and Spencer were great as hosts - Casey shared his extensive knowledge of the history and features of the coast, and Spencer was obviously a very competent skipper who knew who to handle the vessel. When we left Hanalei Bay at 7:30 there was a light rain, and we did get rained on for the first 30 or 45 minutes of the trip. Once we were clear of Hanalei Bay and within range of the amazing sights of the coast, the weather miraculously cleared and we enjoyed a beautiful sunny day. Lunch was basic but more than adequate for this trip. Overall a fantastic experience that we will repeat if we make it back to Kauai!

I’ve been to Kauai before, but never bothered to tour the Na Pali coast. What was I thinking??!! This time it was on my list, and I specifically booked a zodiac as I was hoping we could venture into the sea caves. Holo Holo charters (with the cooperation of Mother Nature in the form of glass-like water conditions) did not disappoint. From the super-convenient Hanalei departure to the great tour narration by our first mate and the expertise of our captain, this tour was exactly what I was hoping it would be - and more. I can’t promise you the same kind of pristine ocean conditions that I encountered, but if they are present, you will be in for the ride of your life. Even if they aren’t, you will be in for a treat as you cruise this stunning coastline. I really didn’t understand what people meant by “breathtaking” until this trip; it was absolutely magical. The visits inside the sea caves were unreal. We also encountered a small pod of dolphins to cap off the adventure. Lunch was tasty, snorkeling at Tunnels was lovely, and the freshwater rinse was a welcome way to prepare for the short zip back to Hanalei. Would absolutely book with this tour again. One warning: if you book through a third party, be sure to also confirm your trip through Holo Holo directly. I got a call that morning saying the boat was about to leave without me- because the Internet discounter put me on the wrong boat, one which departed an hour earlier from 1.5 hrs away! Thankfully the person at Holo Holo was able to straighten it all out in time for me to complete my trip as scheduled. They couldn’t have been nicer.
