Na Pali Snorkel Adventure

Overview
Are you looking for a Napali Coast sightseeing and snorkeling adventure departing from Hanalei Bay? Look no further! We’re the only company on Kauai permitted to operate raft boat tours from Kauai’s iconic north shore and we’d be stoked to take you out on a wet and wild ocean excursion. Within minutes of departing, we’ll be into the heart and soul of the sacred, historical, and stunning Napali Coast, keeping our eyes peeled for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, turtles, and sea birds. With forward-facing seating, bathrooms, and a fresh-water shower, our vessels offer more creature comfort than many other raft-style boats. We’ll learn about the coast, swim, snorkel, relax, eat sandwiches, and just generally bask in the glory of the Napali Coast. What To Expect
1
Holo Holo Charters
Tour Kauai’s Na Pali Coast aboard a High Speed Raft. The adventure begins when you leave from the shore of scenic Hanalei Bay and we shuttle you by dinghy to your rigid hull inflatable raft which is anchored just offshore. There, you’ll do a “dry-transfer”, stow your gear, grab a seat and get ready for the experience of a lifetime.
2
Hanalei Bay
Minutes after leaving the bay, the spectacular Na Pali Coast comes into view and you see why its dramatic cliffs and beaches have enchanted painters, authors and travelers for centuries… and we’re just getting started!
3
Na Pali Coast
As we travel down the coast, your crew and Captain entertain your imagination with stories of the Hawaiians who once made this coast their home. From sea-level you really get a feel for the tremendous scale of Na Pali. Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles and seabirds which are often seen on our tours. Depending on the ocean conditions the day of your raft tour, we’ll stop and snorkel at one of several protected and shallow areas which will be teeming with tropical fish. Fins, goggles (with corrective lenses if you need them), snorkels, and flotation aids are all provided. If you’re new to snorkeling, our crew will be on-hand to provide instruction and pointers so you can get the most from your adventure. After you have a chance to snorkel and relax on the Na Pali Coast, we’ll serve a tasty sandwich lunch before we head back up the coast to Hanalei Bay. Expect to get wet and bring a lightweight jacket.

Yes, I quoted a line from the Disney/Pixar movie "UP" because this tour was adventurous. Our crew of Capt. Dale and Casey made the trip fun and informative. Our The vessel we were on was a ridged-hull inflatable boat that was powered by two 225hp onboard motors. I found the ride fast and for the most part smooth. We got our belongings in the dry bags that were provided and we were soon on our way. Our day stared out with smooth water and some clouds. We traveled along the beautiful Na Pali coast learning about how the native Polynesian people lived along the coast. We then ventured in several caves and experienced waterfalls. Later we spotted a pod of spinner dolphins and sea turtles. When we got to our snorkeling spot, the staff made sure that we were well fitted with gear before they let us into the ocean. Safety first! We spotted several sea turtles and numerous species of fish. Lunch was provided before we headed back. Heading back was a different story. The water turned rough and the wind picked up but at no time did I feel that there was any danger. The boat handled the bumps as well as a inflatable raft could. Overall a GREAT experience not to be missed.

July 2018 On our first full day in Kauai we drove down to Hanalei from our Puu Poa condo to meet the shuttle for our Napali Coast tour with Holo Holo Charters. This ended up being a 3-stage event. The shuttle drove us to the beach, where we boarded one boat that shuttled us out to the zodiac anchored in the bay. After making 2 trips to get all the passengers onboard, we set off down the Napali Coast. Calm turquoise waters, sunny skies, and soaring sea cliffs above us – we couldn’t ask for a better day on the water. It was so cool zooming in and out of the sea caves and under waterfalls, plus along the way we encountered a pod of spinner dolphins that played in the wake of our boat. We stopped at one point for some lunch and snorkeling, then it was high speed all the way back. So fun!

Dale and Claudia were great hosts! They provided expert driving and very informative narration! We had been on several tours on the island and they were still able to provide info that we had not previously heard. Doing this tour from the north shore is so spectacular! Gorgeous scenery from the minute your board the boat. The boat is smooth and comfortable! My husband tends to get a little sea sick, but with non-drowsy Dramamine and ginger gum, he did not have any issues, or did any of our family of 4. We saw dolphins as soon as we left Hanalei Bay and several other times along our tour. They spotted a monk seal relaxing on a beach, and they were able to get us close enough to view. Being able to go into the sea caves is an extra special experience!! The snorkel site was not crowded and very calm water. Lunch were tasty basic sandwiches, and had options for every kind of need, including gluten-free. And, there was plenty for all, plus extras. Dry bags and reef-safe sunscreen were provided at check-in. Use them!! Your stuff will get wet at some point, either by sea spray or waterfalls. And, help keep the reefs healthy with proper sunscreen. The views of the Napali Coast are so stunning when you see them up close on this boat ride, I would do this excursion again on a subsequent trip!! Thanks so much!
