What To Expect
1
Aunt Sally's Pralines
Start your day on the sweetest of notes at a historic praline-makers shop to sample this Southern confectionary treat.
2
Garden District
During the late 19th century, as New Orleans started to fully enjoy its prosperity, wide-lot homes of opulent nature began to arise where once plantations sprawled. Wander through the streets, as harmless insects buzz about, ferns sway on porches and these southern belles lounge about.
3
Lafayette Cemetery No.1
Peek into one of America’s most historic graveyards - Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 with its famous family plots and gray stone mausoleums. Here your guide will share some intriguing stories on the practical difficulties of building and maintaining a cemetery below sea level. Please note: Access to the cemetery is currently prohibited to all guests. Full cemetery tour will be given from outside the gates.
4
Elms Mansion
As you return to the wide avenue of St. Charles, wander a bit more to end your tour in front of the Elms Mansion, one of the best-preserved old Southern mansions in America. As your time with your guide draws to a close, reflect on the beautiful, often troubled history of New Orleans and celebrate the preservation to keep this special corner of the world for all to enjoy. Please note: Access to the Elms Mansion may occasionally be unavailable. In this case, you will receive an extended Garden District tour.

What a fun tour! While on a work trip with my mom along we needed a tour that wasn't all day and saw this fit our schedule. We enjoyed our time in the arts and garden district, enjoyed pralines, riding the streetcar, meeting new friends and learning about the history of New Orleans. A must see for all who visit New Orleans. The perfect sized tour, not huge like some we passed. A great ending with an intimate tour of Elms Mansion including sweet tea under a beautiful Oak Tree! Thank you, Timothy, for opening us up to your city.

Our tour Guide Davis was an absolute font of knowledge. He gave us interesting history of the families, architecture and plants of the Garden District, as well as a bunch of local cultural information. I absolutely loved seeing Anne Rice's old house, as I am a huge Vampire Chronicles fan. Davis also suggested a fantastic local restaurant for me and my wife to eat after (we both have dietary restrictions) and the food was absolutely delicious, 10/10 will eat there again, and would recommend this tour to anyone who likes history and wants to see the beautiful, floral Garden District.

My husband and I recently went on a Garden District tour with Davis, of Walks. The company was awesome (both walks and Davis' company). Davis really knows his stuff, and he's got such an enthusiasm for the material and for sharing it! It was a great tour in a welcoming and LGBTQIAP+ friendly environment. Davis was great at pacing the tour, keeping us all on track in a kind manner, and adjusted the routes to meet guests' needs while still showcasing the locations promised us. I really enjoyed the locations that we visited, and I learned a lot! Davis was fantastic, and I felt very much like we got to hang out with an old friend. Everyone we met along the tour was great as well! At the end, Davis recommended us fantastic food options that matched our religious and allergy restrictions, and we can't wait to go back for more. An excellent tour all around, that I would definitely recommend!
