Bought tickets from a seller in Times Square. I told her we wanted the City loops but not the Brooklyn, Bronx, or night tours. When we looked at the printed ticket we had been upcharged to $69 apiece with all of the above tours for $138 total vs $49 apiece. We waited over an hour for a bus as we had to queue in a line and wait for 3 buses. I think they sell too many tickets. We decided to just bail out after 2 stops because 1) there was a line at every stop and we didnt know how long we would be waiting at each stop and 2)The recordings regarding the sites came after we had passed them

Bought 4 tickets from one of their "street vendors" for a cruise and tour bus ride. Were told the cruise would last an hour. The cruise lasted less than 30 minutes. I guess it would be considered an hour if you included the time waiting in line to get on was included. We were then left to walk back to our original pick up spot because the ticket was no longer valid after we took the cruise. This was suppose to be an all day on/off ticket. Absolutely NO help from any of their employees with this issue. All they said was we can't help you. We had two women in their mid 70's that had to walk dozens of blocks. Nice! By the way Jack, who was doing the narrarating on our cruise, your sarcastic comment to me while we were disembarking cost you any tip I was going to give. I was helping one of the older ladies we were with step down from the gangway when I went past you and your "tip" bag. The " real generous" retort from you ended any chance of me giving you squat. I had every intention of going back and dropping a few bucks in but you took care of that. Nice job of upholding the stereotypical idea that a lot of people have about New Yorkers. I was wishing I could give this a zero rating but think its appropriate that it is a 1. The boat didn't sink afterall.

I booked a 3 day pass, including the night tour and cruise and it wasn’t until a few days before we travelled that with a sinking heart I read any of the reviews. But it was fine, in fact it was very good. The buses aren’t dirty, the ticket sellers are super friendly and good humoured and the recorded commentary is mainly in sync with the sights. The buses are very frequent, more so than some of the other lines. We boarded at stop 16 usually (last stop) so then spent a 15 min wait at stop 1. We spent all 3 days travelling the routes. The traffic generally is very heavy so progress can be slow especially on the Downtown route; we missed our harbour cruise through not allowing enough time to get round Battery Park. The only time there was a long queue was on the day of the environment protest, when buses couldn’t get through at all, but Topview arranged to send empty ones straight to the affected stops. Maybe we were lucky but for us it was a great value way to see NY.
