I bought my pass on my second day from outside my hotel. When I purchased the 3 passes I was informed that you couldn’t get it cheaper anywhere else and the supervisor came over and confirmed this was the lowest price, he quickly put my passes through and did not make me aware of any terms and conditions and more importantly he did not inform me of the $7 dollar service charge, he just put it though and asked me to sign. I then looked on the internet and found that I could have saved $42 dollars on the price of the pass. I informed customer service and quite frankly they didn’t really care, I was offered an extended 2 days anytime in the next 36 months, however I had asked for a refund of the $42 and also queried the $7 service charge. The first trip I took when I got off the driver insisted I give him a $5 tip which I found to be an absolute liberty as he was almost begging saying “if you don’t have change you give me $10 and I’ll give you $5 back, or $20 I’ll give you $15” basically begging, not at all good service. Yesterday I asked for the stop for uptown and was put on a downtown bus and when I asked the driver if we was going uptown he was so rude to me, the bus was diverted as the road was closed so we had started to drive uptown and at Central Park he went the opposite way. I had purchased tickets for the NH Museum and due to this barely spent anytime in there as I got there so late. I will be writing to the director on my return to the UK as I felt the service has been a complete rip off and the customer service is dreadful. I do not want an extended 2 days, I wanted my $42 dollar refund and felt that this should have been honoured.

We have been on many Hop On Hop Off tours in many cities and this is the poorest. We spent more time at the bus stops than traveling. It is the worst and It was not worth the money. We are glad we only bought a ticket for 1 day and would not do this Hop On Hop Off again.

I’d avoid this tour bus company as service was poor, totally misled on what is and isn’t possible and lots of restrictions in how they operate and when they operate, for example the Brooklyn tour is only available once a day!, complimentary tickets to comedy club fine print reads ‘MUST BUY TWO DRINKS’, feel we we were totally hustled by the agents trying to get their commissions. Cruise is only at set times!! Rest of NY was great, friendly, reliable. I’D AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
