This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

Although we booked for the 11AM tour we were asked to join the 2PM time. We rearranged our schedule to accomodate. The tour was very good. Greg was very informative , The group was smaller allowing us to enjoy the neighborhood on a more intimate level. The food was tasty and plentiful.

I'm partial to personalized tour so it was great that it was only us three friends on the walking tour. If you want to learn about the history of Italians and their contributions to the New York scene including food, you've got to take this tour. Greg is funny and is a direct descendant of an Italian family who speaks and breathes the culture.
