We took the Italians of Greenwich Village food tour and enjoyed visiting the “hole in the wall” authentic Italian restaurants and stores. We had a slice of prosciutto and focaccia, meatball, cannoli, gelato, and a truffle. We wished for one less sweet stop and one more sampling of food. I know the website says “samples are subject to change” but I really thought we might get a slice of NY pizza. Everything we had was very yummy and we never would have known about these establishments without taking this food tour. We ended up going back to Pepe Rossi for dinner. It was fun listening to real Italian immigrants serving authentic food in this area. Water offered at one stop was nice. Many of the shops are extremely small and do not offer seating. The other food tours we have been on offer large samples of food that fill you for the day. That’s not the case with this tour. The samples are small enough so you can still eat dinner. Greg was a great host! Very informative, interesting and genuinely cares for his customers!
