This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. Your food tour guide gives you an insider's perspective into local history with music, serenades and family tales. Samples and sights subject to change.

What To Expect

St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

The tour was great. A variety of amazing foods walking through a historic and fun part of NYC all from the perspective of a local who knows the neighborhood and family is from the neighborhood. The variety and uniqueness of the food was appreciated. I highly recommend.

Great tour with unique, authentic Italian foods. Greg is very personable and shares history of the neighborhood and his own Italian heritage to guide the walking tour through the Village. Will recommend this tour to our friends visiting the city as a fun and different activity to get out of the normal tourist traps.

This food & local Italian neighborhood history tour is such fun! Greg makes his (small) groups feel like long lost cousins. The food, the stories. the laughs … a very flavorful, entertaining, genuine, downtown NYC experience. Highly recommended for any visitor (and their local host too.)
