This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. St. Anthony of Padua

St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square

This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii

See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

Greg , the tour guide was a pleasant guy ……but the tour was not what we were expecting. We had very small samples of prosciutto , Brazilian cheese buns, Brazilian sweets, a small meatball , a small sample of chocolate pasta a Nutella filled dough nut, a small piece of hand pulled mozzarella and another small sample of dessert . I think it would have been better if we were offered some type of Italian beverage …..wine , cappuccino, or even water . I personally wanted more savoury samples and a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy them. We mostly stood outside the Italian shops and restaurants while Greg settled up the bill with each shop owner.

How unfortunate you did not enjoy your experience! there is no Alcohol nor smoking advertised nor permitted. I always ask if anyone needs water, and "How are your tummies?" to ensure the tourists are sated. My 600+ five star reviews consistently compliment the sample quality and quantity. While samples are Enjoyed outside of the shops, the tour explored Italianate churches, American history and the Italian American experience of Greenwich Village. Greg Walks NYC
