Old Town Key West Literary Walking Tour

Overview
Join us every weekend for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

Join Sara on a literature lover’s tour of Key West’s notable authors including Hemingway, Elizabeth Bishop, Shel Silverstein, to name a few. See where they lived and gained inspiration from the community, the town and each other. Hear stories and excerpts of their work which will delight and give you a new perspective on this lovely beach town. A wonderful 90 minutes and money well spent if you love to read.

We recently went on the Key West Literary Seminar Walking Tour and thought it was excellent. Sara, our guide, was superb as we walked streets in Old Town visiting homes of some of our nation’s greatest authors and poets. She interjected words from some their most famous works as she gave their stories when they lived in Key West. We would highly recommend the tour.

The length of the tour was 90+ minutes and The walking pace was easy and relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone interested in the writers of Key West and an appreciation for the landscape and culture.
