Old Town Key West Literary Walking Tour

Overview
Join us every weekend for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

Sarah was very knowledgeable and also a great story teller. She made me feel as though I could see the authors in the Key West of their time. The history alone was worth the tour. Highly recommend this tour!

Our tour guide was excellent- knowledgeable and entertaining! We feel like we have a much better appreciation of Key West with all this background. In addition to Information about authors who have been here, we learned about architecture and some of the local industries as Key West developed. Easy walk - leisurely pace.

I'm a literature nerd and this tour with Scott Burau topped all my expectations. Key West has such a lush and intimate history with great American writers, it was a treat to walk the streets with Scott and have him talk about the writers both dead and living who call Key West home and/or their best place to write. It is obvious that Scott is a literature lover-- he is enthusiastic about the subject, is well prepared, and read vignettes of some of his favorites. A top notch 5-star opportunity--not just for lit nerds!
