Old Town Key West Literary Walking Tour

Overview
Join us every weekend for the Old Town Literary Walking Tour, a stroll through downtown Key West, illuminating stories of writers that have called our island home. Inspired by David A. Kaufelt’s original literary walking tour, our new tour features the former homes and favorite haunts of writers, including Tennessee Williams, Shel Silverstein, Elizabeth Bishop, and Robert Frost, and highlights tales of our lesser-known local talent.

We really enjoyed the literary walking tour with Scott. He was very informative, interesting and entertaining. We learned a lot about Key West history and community through the literary and cultural lens. Just loved it and would definitely recommend!

Really enjoyable walking tour that immerses you in the fabulous literary history of Key West - so many novelists and poets have worked there! Our only complaint was that it didn't go on longer (there were some houses mentioned at the beginning which we would have loved to walk by).

Whether you're a reader, librarian, historian or just want to learn about the fascinating literary characters who have lived (and some still are) in Key West, this is a very informative tour. Even though I live in Key West and have heard many of the stories about Hemingway, Tennessee Williams and Shel Silverstein, I learned new things about them and many other novelists, poets and songwriters. Worth the time. Great value.
