Olympic National Park Tour from Seattle

Overview
Olympic National Park is well known for having several different ecosystems to explore: subalpine forest, wildflower meadows, temperate rain-forest, and the rugged Pacific Shore. This twelve hour tour allows you to sample each of these systems with the added advantage of having an experienced guide to answer any questions that may arise. Come explore tide pools along the coastal beaches, roam among old-growth forest, trek atop mountain ridges with breathtaking vistas and stand by glacier-birthed rivers and lakes. The tour begins on a leisurely ferry boat ride over the Puget Sound to the Olympic Peninsula. The exact itinerary will be curated by the tour guide however our first stop will usually find us at Hurricane Ridge where you will hike to an incredible view of the valley below and the snow-capped mountains in the distance. We will move on to Crescent Lake and the seasonally Sol Duc Valley, and a sandy beach along the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Please plan on approximately six miles.

I took this tour with my mother and 9 year old son. Joel was our tour guide - we loved him!! He gave clear, but kind, instructions on how long we had at stops and when we needed to be back to get on the van. He noticed that my mom was feeling sick and arranged for her to sit in the front seat and offered her ginger ale. We stopped at a gas station with a deli and grabbed food for the day which we ate as we went. Our first stop close to the park was at Tongue Point where we got to see tide pools because it was low tide. We got to see an abundance of tiny crabs, sea anemones, and even a sea star! Our next stop was at Crescent Lake. We hiked in a lush, green, old growth rainforest which was beautiful!! Finally, we drove up to the visitor center at Hurricane Ridge. If I hadnā€™t been confident in Joelā€™s driving, I would have been a little terrified driving up the side of a mountain without guardrails. There was snow around the visitor center and we also saw a couple of marmots (small animal that lives there). My son loved that Joel had a snowball fight with him. He said that has been one of his favorite things about our week long trip to the Seattle area. I highly recommend this tour- it is worth the money!!! The National Park is truly awe inspiring and Joel took great care of us! He went out of his way to make sure that everyone had a good experience. He is a kind, generous, and compassionate person, we really appreciated him!!

Joel said to us right at the beginning ā€œI want to make this day the highlight of your tripā€; and he really delivered. He was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and interesting and make the whole trip very nice and smooth. The landscapes and sights we saw were all breathtaking and absolutely worth the trip. Olympic National Park is a treasure!
