This tour departs from Orcas Island. The island can only be reached by the Washington State Ferry System. If your party is not already on island we recommend our Anacortes departure location.

We had an amazing afternoon on Saturday with Outer Island! From check in with Amy, to an entertaining and informative cruise with Captains Matt and Drew, and Naturalist Taylor, we enjoyed every minute of the experience. Bald eagles and harbor seals were in abundance, and the T124A’s Transient Orca family was stunning. Thank you for going the distance, respecting the whale watch guidelines(!), and providing us with a beautiful trip. We will be sure to go out with you again in the future!

There is no doubt they knew where to find the Orcas. However, included in the $600 family outing was an hour and a half going to and from another island in the opposite direction from the Orcas in order to pick up more passengers. Three hours riding and 30 minutes on site. Family members in another Outer Island boat was on site for almost 2 hours for the same price. What really gets my goat is that the skipper told us we'd be going to Lopez Island to pick up people, but "It's right there were the whales are"; an absolute lie. It is obvious that money is more important than providing a good customer experience. BUYER BEWARE!

I am sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the pit stop at Lopez Island. Its a cool little spot in the islands that we enjoy visiting. It is only 20 minutes there from our home port not an hour and a half. Our tours are 3 to 4 hours long, and we stay out a little longer to when we do the stop. We always spend about an hour with the whales sometimes more when we have multiple groups of them in the area which frequently there are. The whales were only a few miles from Lopez Island about 15 minutes, seems pretty close. Also there is more than just whales out there Mate. Seals, sea lions, porpoises and birds galore. Some of the captains spend more time on other wildlife as well. Yesterday was one of the nicest days of the summer. We are all there to see whales but we like to enjoy the trip as well. Glad your family members had fun too. I hope your goat will recover. We appreciate you coming. We run some of the nicest boats in the islands and have the highest success rates in the region. One star seems a little harsh.

A beautiful day & watched whales for a long time diving & surfacing in the distance by the boat. Such beautiful scenery. Loved the small group size -30- and the captain Andrew & staff were exceptional. Very knowledgeable & freely answered questions & made the entire experience very pleasurable. So great being out on the water. Wonderful trip & highly recommend it. PS - watch Groupon & the paper for coupons. Very affordable then!! Don’t forget to tip their excellent staff - they deserve it! Fantastic trip & time!!
