The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods
Hand sanitiser available to travellers and staff

Face masks are optional in the building and onboard tram cars.

Inexpensive ride to the top of the mountain (but bring a jacket or wrap as its cold..) and a view that just doesn't stop of the valley. Everyone should do this at least once if visiting Palm Springs.

This is an unforgettable trip. The views were stunning. I wish I would have known there was a long wait though. I would have packed a picnic for my family. They have a nice back patio to wait in. It was partially shaded and there was a cooling area. Not eating may have contributed to me getting sick once we took the aerial tram trip. EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER I INTERACTED WITH WAS SUOER NICE AND GENUINE. Other than that it was perfect and my family enjoyed it.

Doesnt matter what time of year it is -- its a wonderful experience. In winter, often snow; In summer, an amazing escape from desert heat. Most people just stop at the top and eat at restaurants -- however, walking down the LONG walkway to the forest is magnificent .... then walk or hike , possibly in snow
