We were pleasantly surprised with the tram ride to the top of the San Jacinto State Park. The 100+ degree temperature at the bottom went down to 68 degrees at the top and we were surrounded by the beauty of the state park! I hiked on the easy trails and took in the breathtaking views of the valley below. You could see for miles and miles even with the haze in the distance. I hope to return one day and actually camp out a day or two in the wilderness of the San Jacinto State Park. This was well worth the $25.95/round trip/person price tag. I only have one complaint... upon arriving to the parking attendants building, we were told to park in lot F and a shuttle took us up to the building where we boarded the tram. When we returned to the bottom and disembarked the tram, we walked out to wait for the shuttle to take us to parking lot F. After about 15 or 20 minutes, no shuttle ever came to get us and we realized most people were walking to their cars just a few yards away or being picked up by friends/family from the waiting area in front of the building. We had to walk quite a distance to parking lot F only to find we were the only car in the parking lot and the three shuttle buses were parked for the evening. This all took place before 7:00 p.m. and the last tram ride down from the top wasn't until 9:45 p.m. Fortunately, it was down hill to the car. Otherwise, my friend might not have been able to make it. It would have been nice to know there would not be a shuttle after a certain time. Maybe that info was somewhere in the paperwork, but I didn't see it. Otherwise, this was a great day of enjoying God's beautiful handiwork!
