The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

The Tramway is a fun experience. The ride is smooth and beautiful. The tramway car slowly rotates on the way up and down providing great views of the palm springs area. At the top, there are multiple hiking trails. All involve walking along steep inclines so might be difficult for some people. That said, the hikes are worth the effort. Also, note that it's about 30F degrees cooler at the top.

Breathtaking views. I knew this had to be on the list for my trip. So glad i waited a day. Perfect weather, lite breeze, not too cool, even at top, 8500 ft. I'm scared of heights and motion sensitive, and revolving floor and climb was still amazing. Couldn't look straight down, but out over valley was spectacular!

Riding the tram is an incredible experience. The view is spectacular and the change from desert landscape to mountain terrain happens so quickly, it's hard to absorb. On a clear day, it's hard to imagine a better panorama, and it is quiet and peaceful in the surrounding mountains. I never tire of taking the tram and sharing it with friends who visit for the first time.
