The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

Very nice cable cars, although not sure I like that they rotate. I wanted to hang onto the rails, but they move! You get up there pretty quickly and despite high winds the day we went the cars didn't swing like you'd imagine. The trails are gorgeous, the views are breathtaking. And such a nice cool temp at the top vs. down in the valley. Be prepared and wear layers! And it does get windy!

If you visit the Palm Springs area, the Aerial Tramway is a must see. The trip up and down has breathtaking views of the valley floor and surrounding mountains. At the top there are two restaurants, one with casual dining food, the other with a more upscale and pricier menu. Both are excellent and highly recommended. The real reason to go up, however, are the hiking trails with at least a couple of loops of over a mile each. The refreshing cool air on a hike is a welcome change from the heat of the valley during the warm summers. Don't miss this attraction.
