This was my first time to Philly and I wanted to see as much as possible, in the very short amount of time I had here. I am SO glad my mom suggested we take a Big Bus tour! She had taken one last summer and her pleasant experience lead to us returning.. let me tell you - I was MORE THAN pleased! I am a huge history buff, and thanks to our amazing tour guide, Jay, and wonderful driver, Bernard, I more than enjoyed myself! He engaged his audience which made things fun, while helping to keep us safe (detours made us drive where low hanging branches might never a problem) and telling us all about the city you can tell he’s proud to work in! I am not one to fill out reviews (good or bad) but I had to take the time to spread the word!! If you’re ever in Philly (even for a couple hours) this bus tour isn’t worth it!! And if you’re able to seek out Jay & Bernard - you DEFINITELY won’t be dissappointed! I’d come back and take the same tour again in a heartbeat!! We did the city tour and saw all different areas of the city. It was very helpful to do this on our first day in Philly, to start to understand the layout of the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny! It's convenient to be able to get on/off wherever you wanted around the city.

Our time in philly was limited and we wanted to go to so many places. We usually dont take tours like this one, but rather go for more private tours, where we can truly get the inside scoop on the place we are visiting! Buying the tickets on line was no issue! We got the 2 day tickets as we had thursday afternoon and friday morning to see the city! We got on the bus at about 4:30 pm and were reminded quickly how the bus would only go around until 5. The first 3 guides we had just sounded like a recording, and it seemed like this was just another job for them. The feeling we got from them was that we were in their way, not really welcomed. I also had to listed to 2 of the guides talk among them using foul language, which i didnt appreciate, specially with the kids. Thank god for Tessa ( Hope i spelled her name right). She was so excited about philly, and although she gave us the same information as the other guides, you could tell she was proud of the city she was showing us off!!!! So, if you just want to see the city and look at the main points of interest, this tour is right for you. I just didnt appreciate the other guides!
