We were amazed at how much we learned about Philadelphia from our tour guide, Bill. He was so knowledgeable and thoroughly entertaining! I would suggest at least a two day pass. Ride the entire route first thing the first day, and see what places you would like to explore. A tour leaves every hour, so there are plenty of busses to hop on/off throughout the day. Explore the sites that interest you at your own pace. This was one of my favorite things we did in Philly .... you see everything, then experience whatever you like! Well worth the money to have an overall tour with so much detailed information and history about the city. And, a ride to and from the various sites and landmarks .... you can't beat this!!

We enjoyed seeing the city from the top of their double decker bus. We appreciated the information shared by the tour guides. We went on two separate days and learned something new each day. The guides provide their own unique value. It is a good over view when you first arrive.

We returned to Philadelphia for another visit to this historically rich city of Brotherly Love. Because our experience was so good last year with the Big Bus Tour, we purchased tickets for this great way to get around the city again. Our first guide was Jay and the driver was Walt. What a fabulous team they were! Jay was entertaining and informative. He welcomed us warmly and filled us with his vast knowledge of the city, truly great! Walt was challenged with narrow streets made narrower due to the recent snow. He never failed the challenge! He took his time and even got out of the bus on one occasion to fold the side mirror of a parked truck so we could get by without damaging our bus or the truck!! The ride was first rate! Sadly, our next ride didn’t go as smoothly. Bill was our tour guide who was a little too full of himself as he shared that he had been on the bus with our winning Villanova basketball team last year and will soon be on the Eagles press bus for the upcoming Division Championship. When we got off at stop 18,the Liberty Tower Observation Deck, at 3:05, we asked Bill when the next bus would be by. He told us it would be there by 4:00. We checked out the Observation Deck (underwhelming to say the least), walked around the shops and headed out to the #18 Big Bus Tour stop. We were at the stop by 3:45. Another Big Bus Tour customer joined us at the bus stop at 4:00. We waited until 4:25, at which point it was getting colder and darker, and called the Big Bus Tour people. The woman who answered the phone was pleasant and wanted to make things right but she told me the next (and last Bus) would be there in 30-40 minutes!!!! She said we must have missed the previous bus. How could that be when we were there at LEAST 15 minutes prior to the scheduled 4:00 bus schedule? She tried to get a van to pick us up but it was at the airport and would be another 35 minutes before it could get to our location. We decided to cut our losses at this point and we hailed a cab to get us back to our hotel. Sadly, this experience will cause us to think twice before using Big Bus Tours again.
