Great way to see the sites of Philadelphia and then go back for a more in depth visit to those that interest you.
We rode the bus several times over a 2 day period and it was interesting to here the same tour facts from the different guides.
I would recommend this tour to anyone.

We purchased the Big Bus tour as part of a Philadelphia Pass. The guides were knowledgeable about the city and its history. It was a nice feature that you could get off at any stop and get on the next bus when it arrived. We missed one connecting bus on the zoo loop, but they saw us when heading in the opposite direction and were kind enough to stop and pick us up (great in the 100 degree heat). My only complaint was that one driver was AWFUL, she only had two speeds- fast or slamming on the breaks, we ran red lights and several people up top complained they felt unsafe and were getting motion sick from her driving. The other drivers were great, and we enjoyed this tour.

Hello Mal215, Thank you for your review and feedback. It is very important to us. I am pleased that overall you enjoyed your tour experience, and do apologize that you did not have a good experience with one of our drivers. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

I visited Philadelphia this past weekend for a quick 1-day birthday getaway with my boyfriend. The Big Bus tour was a really easy and enjoyable way to see the major Philadelphia tourist sites. We got on the Big Bus at Reading Terminal Station, which is a convenient location to grab a bite to eat and use the bathroom before jumping on the bus. We missed the first bus but were told by a helpful Big Bus salesperson (dressed in yellow shirt) that we could catch the next bus 10 minutes later. Once you are boarded, the Big Bus allows you to "hop on, hop off" at each stop if you want to explore the attraction in greater depth. Since we were short on time, my boyfriend and I chose to forego this option and instead sat on the upper deck of the bus for the entirety of the tour. This gave us a great view of the city compared to the lower decks. However, it was definitely a hot and sunny day, so I recommend bringing sunglasses and a hat! (Alternatively, they offer night tours beginning at 8 pm daily). The guide was very friendly, knowledgable, and attentive to guests coming and going. We were treated to an interesting narrative about the history of Philadelphia, particularly the roles of William Penn and Benjamin Franklin. I particularly enjoyed seeing all the statues and murals in the city, as pointed out by our tour guide, from the top of the double decker bus! Overall, my boyfriend and I stayed long enough to see 20 out of 27 sites on the tour in less than 2 hours. I would definitely recommend this tour to people who want to quickly see the great and diverse city of Philadelphia!

Hello work4veggies, Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works & Big Bus, and for your detailed feedback. I am pleased you enjoyed your tour experience from atop the double decker bus. Many people choose to ride the entire route to get a comprehensive, continuous tour of the city, and then ride again to utilize the hop on/hop off feature. If you visit Philadelphia again, and have more time, you can try that or our Philly by Night tour. Thank you for recommending Big Bus Philadelphia.
