Premier Juneau Whale Watching Expedition

Overview
Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters.  Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

I booked this tour online while they were closed for the season. I received an automated reply stating "This receipt is not a valid ticket" and listing the pickup location as the Disney Wonder. I received no further correspondence. As we had taken a variety of non-Disney excursions on our previous Disney cruise, I was accustomed to being met on the dock with someone from the excursion. We were told to look for someone wearing a blue hat and holding a sign that said "Juneau Tours and Whale Watch." There were no such people at the dock. Finally someone with another tour took pity on our wandering, bewildered troupe and explained that we needed to take a shuttle to the Mt. Roberts Tramway. The excursion itself was great and we saw lots of whales, but I took one star off for the poor communication. Just know that Dock A, unlike all the other docks, is a mile from your actual meeting area and you will need to ride the shuttle to the tramway.

Very poorly guided. Tour guide talked too much. Rather see than hear how great everything is. We can make our own assessment. Plus she should keep her political views to herself.

We were on a cruise and had scheduled in advance to go on a whale watching excursion with the cruise line. On the day we were to go it was abruptly cancelled due to high winds. Fortunately we walked down the pier to Juneau Tours and they took care of us. The boat was beautiful and brand new. Our ride was a little bumpy but not at all unsafe. We saw lots of whales including Flame of National Geographic fame. Our crew Captain Josh, Tori, and Charity were excellent. Tori was a native Alaskan from a village of 35 and provided a very interesting perspective. It was a fantastic day, and one that I will never forget!
