Premier Juneau Whale Watching Expedition

Overview
Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters.  Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

Our family had an amazing day out on the boat with Captain Brendan, Miranda and Lucas. Not only did we get up close and personal with some beautiful humpback whales, we were well entertained by a friendly and knowledgeable crew. I have been on many whale watch tours, but today was by far the most memorable. Thank you Juneau Whale Watch!

Russel, Dave and Captain Ed were a fantastic crew! Dave didn’t do a whole lot, haha, but made sure we were safe and following the rules, no, he did just fine with the little he spoke, and he was very nice and friendly. Captain Ed was a great boat driver, got us all to and from the whales/dock safe and sound. Russell was interesting and informative and intriguing and innovative and indubitably present. Hello Russel’s Mom, btw!!! 👋 The tour was great, we saw several whales, one was sleeping, another was out there with her calf, and we saw all of them blow, and wave with their tales! It was a beautiful day at sea that I’m sure these guys made happen. For a kid from Utah, Russel knew quite a bit about whales, he passed around a baleen plate (whalebone) with bristles in tact which was pretty cool to see up close. The tool is our for a two hour tour on the water and had granola bars and fruit snacks to tide us over before getting back to the cruise ship.

Hands down expert crew (Captain Jordan, Courtney, and Jessy); experts in this field and incredibly environmentally conscious. We came very close to the whales, got a ton of incredibly pictures, @ zero risk to the whales. Great job — quality greatly exceeds the price...!!!
