We are the only Cooking School that does small intimate Hands On Classes in the French Quarter. Our class size ranges from 2 people to 10. Larger groups are welcome too. Classes are more like a dinner party with friends.

As someone who has some dietary restrictions, Iā€™ve always shied away from cooking classes for the obvious reasons. Donā€™t want to be ā€œthat person!ā€ My company brought us to a class as a team building event and I was pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the chefs were! Jacques and Scott were very warm and inviting and had special ingredients set aside specifically for me, without making a big fuss that I was doing my own thing. I was able to learn a bit more of the culinary history of New Orleans, all whilst stirring (and not burning) a roux! I canā€™t wait to recreate the recipe! Hoping to return for other classes in the future as well. Everyone had such a blast and the food turned out to be amazing. Thank you!

Our evening was so perfect! This was my most anticipated part of my trip to New Orleans. Mardi Gras School and Laurent did not disappoint! Laurent was a perfect teacher who mixed a perfect blend of culinary expertise, history, and fun into an evening of great food and great company. We made Gumbo, Shrimp Etouffe, and Bananas Foster. They were all incredible. I am a semi-proficient cook and the instruction level was just right for me, but you could tell that Laurent would tailor the instructions for any level of chef. We had to practically be rolled out of the studio afterwards we were so full. If you are considering a cooking class during your time in New Orleans, you should book with Mardi Gras!

I took this class with my husband and our 21 year old son. We had so much learning how to cook gumbo, ƩtouffƩe, and bananas foster. Everything was delicious and we learned lots of little tricks. Will definitely take more classes when we come back to NOLA.
