Overview

The Mardi Gras School of Cooking does small, intimate hands-on classes in the French Quarter. Classes are more like a dinner party with friends. Feel welcomed into our kitchens by the Chefs themselves. From the moment you arrive until you roll out the door our Chefs are friendly, personable and entertaining. Not to mention their culinary skills are impeccable.

Our minimum class size is 2 people. A solo traveler may join an already scheduled class. Call us to hear about the available classes.

For parties of 8 or more, you will have to contact us directly to book. We have questions.

The chef (Preston) was great. Funny, informative, educational, just what we had hoped for. Plus, the food we made was amazing, truly the best!!! We ate so much we were were not even hungry for dinner. Take this class, you will love it. Chef Preston, thank you. Kelly and Scott

Incredible experience and a must do! We took the Roux class with Preston. He was a wealth of cooking knowledge and shared interesting historical facts with us. The food was incredible and the cooking ambiance was perfect. Preston also gave us area restaurant and bar recommendations. We took him up on his recommendation of GW Fins restaurant…wow!…and Frenchmen Street bars/music…fun!. We highly recommend the Mardi Gras Cooking School!!! You won’t be disappointed. Worth every penny! Thanks, Preston!!!!

Chef Mark's class felt more like dinner with friends! The classroom kitchen was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We learned and laughed so much. Truly, this was a highlight of our trip to New Orleans and a meal we will long member. I have no hesitation recommending the Hands on Roux Cooking Class.
