Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!

The whale watch was absolutely incredible! At one point, we were surrounded by 100s of dolphins feeding and swimming with the boat -- we also saw approx. TWELVE blue whales!!! The staff was AMAZING and Melissa really knew a lot about whales and did great commentary. The staff was also a great help to all of those who got motion sickness. I would absolutely do this again - well worth it & the price!

An excellent way to spend 3 hours of the day. SD Whale Watch did not disappoint anyone onboard the ship. We saw whale, seals, and dolphin. The Blue Whale can be seen most of the summer off coast of California.

Amazing experience we had in Mid-Aug w/ a friend & end-Aug w/ kids. First, trip was INCREDIBLE! 2nd trip was AWESOME! Surrounded by Blue Whales every which way we looked so close to the boat you could hear the whale spout. There was so much to take in & so much wildlife was seen on each adventure. Each was so different.. even saw Minke's on the 2nd trip . Beautiful scenery on the way in & out - couldn't have asked for a nicer day on the water. Capt Chris & Crew go above & beyond to make sure that your trip is a memorable one! Highly recommend as this trip is well worth it! I have never gotten such great pictures on any trip I have ever been on. I can't say enough praise .. go & experience for yourself :) Would recommend wearing shoes that have grip on the bottom so you don't slip on deck, light capri's or jeans& bring a jacket or sweatshirt to layer as it is 10 degrees cooler once you get way out there in the ocean & don't forget your camera. A few did have binoculars :). This adventure is about 3 hours, but if they find something good they are happy to run a little longer.
