San Diego Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

We saw whales, two species of dolphins, and many bird species as promised. The naturalists on board were very knowledgable.

This was an awesome trip. We have done whale watching before, 3 hours is perfect! Great, friendly, informative crew, clean, pleasant large boat. The place where you buy the tickets had lots of parking and were very friendly and easy to deal with. As to the wildlife, lots of birds, sea lions, right in the marina to start. We saw three kinds of whales, a small humpack, two juvenile gray whales and a fin back whale, so that was great! The star performers however, was the huge group of short beaked dolphins, there were a few hundred of them, jumping, playing, riding the wake of the boat, that was spectacular. And the weather, a February heat wave in San Diego, I now know the difference between sunny and brilliantly sunny on Accuweather! Over all a great way to spend an afternoon!

I think the best review that can be given is from a local (that would be me) who loves this whale watching experience. The accommodations are comfortable with plenty of viewing room. I particularly enjoyed the expert who provided the information of what we were seeing, Diane Cullins, she was outstanding.
