The Cruisin' The Castro Walking tour was excellent. Kathy is a very charming and charismatic person. Moreover, being an long-term activist herself, she has a brilliant knowledge of the history of the district. Her stories make the Castro and its history come to life. During our tour, we even ran into Allan Baird. Kathy introduced us and we had a brilliant, albeit short, discussion where he told us what happened during the beer boycott. Overall verdict: excellent and must-visit walking tour!

This fantastic, educational tour is well worth your time. I was surprised at the local history information that I'd never heard before. Our kind and informative guide Kathy knows all about current events in the Castro as well as it's history. I bought this tour as a birthday gift for friends from out of state & they enjoyed it very much ! After the tour, you can head out for an SF meal & enjoy The City. (Easy access to where the tour starts, just steps away from BART).

I had a fantastic time learning about the history of the Castro area and it's significance in the worldwide gay liberation movement. Kathy is an excellent guide and brought such a personal touch to the tour, especially being one of the directors of the rainbow honour walk. In fact, during our tour, she even bumped into a friend of hers who turned out to be a local 'hero' of the Castro area (was his name Alan?) who - in the late 70s - lobbied for Coors beers to be voluntarily boycotted from all the bars and clubs in the Castro area due to their homophobic employment policies. It be only a 3 hour tour, and so I would recommend this tour for everyone visiting SF and wanting to hear about the history of the Castro area. It is well priced for what you get. Kathy, it as just a pleasure meeting you... Please keep up the great work!
