Kathy, our tour leader could not have been better. It came across that she senses the tours she leads and takes it from there. My fiancé and I were joined by a newlywed couple from Canada IIRC (and yes, all of us on the tour were part of the GLBT community). We were allowed ample time to share personal experiences that added to the tour; which added to the history of the Castro. The morning of our tour, SF had a rare heavy morning rain. Kathy accommodated those of us that needed to go down the block to the Walgreens to get umbrellas to better enjoy our time together. Given my new rating system (see my profile), this a tour I would like to take with others on a future trip to SF.

We took this tour while visiting SF, and really enjoyed it. The Castro is a pleasant row of shops to visit, but the area came alive for us when we were told some of the history, beyond what we may have read in the headlines years ago. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and a pleasant host for the visit.

We got a very personal meeting with Kathy. With her warmth and great knowledge of the neighbourhood and it´s history, she gave us an interesting, engaging and touching tour around the streets of Castro. We would very much recommend this tour to people interested in the gay history of this vibrant community. Thank´s Kathy! /The Swedes
