Great historical context, stories, and information. Incredibly knowledgeable tour guide! So much fun and shares community connections along the way at different restaurants and retail shops. Definitely recommended if you're interested in learning about the history of the Castro neighborhood and the overall fight for equality in the LGBT community.

I wont go on and on about how wonderful it was, but...it was. What can i say about our guide. Kathy was terrific, I brought along a hetrosexual girlfriend who knew nothing about Harvey Milk, or the Gay district, or even the ravages of the HIV/AIDS virus effect much of Sanfrancisco in the 80's, Along with a gay couple and a transgendered lady we had a wonderful time walking the easy distance, everything was close by, so no difficulty there, and kathy was right there with first hand knowledge on every subject. I must say we had a wonderful morning, it took aprox 2 hours and covered every subject possible including architecture, local history, art, local culture and even what colour flag means what...lol, i would recommend this tour to everyone visiting San Francisco. its a must do.

I went on the Castro Historical Walking Tour while on my trip to San Francisco. The guide (Karen) is the both the owner of the tour company AND an owner of another local business in the area (the Twin Peaks cafee). She absolutely knew her subject matter and answered all of our questions along the way. We walked through all the areas of the Castro that had historical- or current-significance, and Karen gave EXCELLENT commentary. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting San Francisco. I was pleased and you will be as well.
