Kathy is amazing. Her knowledge of the Castro District and personal insights brings this tour to life. We went with our teen and her friend, both of whom commented they "learned a lot!" I did as well since the tour takes you from the history of the Castro's development through Harvey Milk's powerful impact and into today's life and times. This tour was a delightful way to spend our morning in the City. Thanks for everything Kathy!

My partner and I were very taken by the history surrounding Harvey Milk and the Castro District. Kathy Amendola, our tour guide's tale of the history of the Castro was told in such an inclusive and entertaining way it brought the whole story alive. Though we were not from America we felt that the whole struggle for equality resonated with us.. it felt familiar.. which I imagine many 'queer folk' from around the world might feel.I would reccommend this tour to everyone who visits San Francisco because it intoduces you to a city that has battled for right to be who you are...So if you make it to San francisco as well as 'flowers in your hair' .. you need to do the Cruisin 'the Castro Walking Tour where you may just find a rainbow in your pocket.

We have been to San Francisco before, but never had visited the Castro. Wanting to get the most out of our limited time there, we decided to book a walking tour of the area. We were EXTREMELY lucky to book a tour with Cruisin' the Castro. Kathy was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made what could have been a very pedantic tour of the area into a group of friends who wandered the area together, sharing knowledge and life experiences to make the day a very memorable and enlightening time. If you are considering visiting the area, do yourself a favor and book a tour with Cruisin' the Castro. You won't regret it.
