Scenic Horseback Adventure

Overview
Enjoy a 1 hr hour walking guided horseback ride with panoramic views of the Verde Valley. We are only 30 minutes from Sedona. This ride is tailored for nervous first timers, beginners, families and children. The ride takes you around the Texas Longhorn pen where you will get to see Brutus, the gentle giant as well as buffalo.. Enjoy views of the Verde Valley, Mingus Mountains and see as far as the San Fransico Peaks in Flagstaff. The old west feel of this location, the western facades, horses, chickens, goats and cows will make you want to trade your shiny shoes for an old pair of boots and your fancy car for a horse! Guest are also welcome to feed the barbado sheep, give the horses treats or take a selfie with the minis.

This was a safe, relaxing, entertaining ride through the desert. It took about 90 minutes and the path was well worn. I think it would have felt a bit stale had it not been for the two guides (I think they were Brett and John) who were friendly and funny. The horses know the way and they stay nose to tail for the most part. All you really have to do is not fall off and enjoy the view. My only recommendations for improving the experience would be to use leather reins on all the horses (some used rope, which were not great for smaller hands) and to accept tips by Apple Pay, Venmo, and the like. If youā€™re looking to feel like a cowboy exploring the Wild West or are an experienced rider hoping to ride free then this will leave you disappointed. If youā€™re just looking to spend some easy time on a horse in a beautiful desert then this is your answer. Book directly with the company if you can. No need to go through an intermediary.

Nice people. It was a hot day so was a bit uncomfortable on those super hot saddles that had been in the sun for hours. Wish I had gotten a saddle that didn't burn.

Our guide was very friendly and informative, providing facts about the local terrain and attractions in the area. We felt very safe, and the horses were well trained and seemed to be well taken care of. We'll be recommending them to friends, and you as well!
