What To Expect

The Official Art Deco Gift Shop

Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Take the 90 minute art deco guided walking tour with the Miami Design Preservation League and learn the history of the area including visitng Al Capone's Clay hotel, the steps of the Villa by Barton G, the most photographed landmark in Miami,formerly Versace's home, where he was gunned down, the location of the Miami Vice series and sighting Gloria Estefan's Cardozo. At $20 ($15 for seniors) its both informative and fun.

This was our first visit to Miami Beach and the South Beach area. The guide, Kent, provided an exuberant walking tour of the Art Deco architecture in the area. The tour not only visited numerous exterior buildings, but also the interiors of many of the hotels. What made it most interesting was the historical information about the development of Florida and the Miami Beach area.

I would recommend this tour. Lasting about 1 hour 45 minutes, we were taken in and around the hotels which make up the Art Deco historical district. Our guide, Kent, was informative, easy to listen to, and he looked after us well. You can always tell when someone is passionate about their subject rather than reading from a script. There were about 15 to 20 persons in each tour party and we considered it to be interesting and pleased that the cost went towards the Preservation League.
