What To Expect

The Official Art Deco Gift Shop

Founded in 1976, The Miami Design Preservation League has proudly offered guided walking tours of The Art Deco District for over 40 years. All Proceeds go towards supporting preservation. Visitors are introduced to the history, architecture, and preservation efforts of Miami Beach. Tour ticket includes free admission to the Art Deco Museum and Gift Shop. There are a limited amount of tickets available for each tour, so early bookings are encouraged . Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure for check-in.

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

My friend and I were so thankful to learn that your tour was available. I have always considered Art Deco to be my favorite building style and was thrilled to be able to see Miami Beach's examples. Our guide, Pamela, really knew her stuff and was able to point out and explain features that I would have probably missed. All this along with the history presented made for a wonderful afternoon. Kent was our tour guide, and he was VERY knowledgeable and informative. He provided just the right balance of information, facts, anecdotes and even threw in two or three corny jokes in the 2 hour tour. The $20 cost was a good value; the people selling the tickets in the welcome center were very helpful, and divided the group among a few guides so the group size was manageable. The tour included exteriors and interiors of landmark buildings. Kent provided historical, architectural, local political and other info to bring together how the Art Deco district developed, evolved over the years and the current state of the preservation efforts. Kent was able to answer questions, and seems to truly have a passion for the preservation of the Art Deco buildings. The tour left me wanting to visit some of the other buildings he mentioned. I wish there was a "Part 2" since there are so many remarkable Art Deco buildings in this area.

Well worth the money to don earphones and take off on a 1 1/2 hour walking tour of the Art Deco architecture around South Beach. Good job of telling the history and the stories of the various buildings. Left us wanting to take the more extensive tours. Well worth the time and money!
