Tree Canopy Climbing on Lopez Island

Overview
Come experience the only old-growth tree climbing activity in the State of Washington and create some unforgettable memories. This is your chance to do something not even .1% of the population has done, but now you can. In small-groups climb together on 1-4 trees between 100 and 200 feet high, depending on your athletic level. Some of the trees are even rare old-growth trees. See the unique perspective above the canopy and feel what it's like to be eye level with an eagle as you climb/swing around like a monkey through the open air and catch branches, while safely harnessed by rope. Climb your way up some of the tallest trees in the world to amazing views of the upper canopy, mountains, and ocean. Connect to nature like you have never done before, beyond the trail.

During this activity you will explore the special ecology of old-growth trees and its importance in our environment and so much more.

Wow! Where do I even begin with this awesome adventure. We booked into the Canopy Climb at deception pass and had the most amazing time. Matt was our guide and really looked after us. He told us a lot of fun facts about the area and made sure we felt completely safe and comfortable hundreds of yards up a tree. Sick views, best time, good company, thank you a million x

Leo and Matt did a great job accommodating our group of 10. We were all fit, active adults, but not everyone was comfortable with climbing on ropes to heights above 200 feet. Adventure Terra worked with and around everyone's abilities to make it a great day for all climbers and we left with the satisfaction of mastering an old growth fir to the tippy top, to the juvenile wood at last 20-feet, where you can wrap your one arm around the tree's trunk, cautiously take your phone out of your pocket with the other, look out over the forest, and claim that precious selfie, one very few humans have claimed!

Thanks Tom for coming climbing, it was wonderful sharing this experience with the whole group from your gym! It was easy to tell all that work in the gym has definitely paid off! Come back for rock climbing next time!

Being at nearly the top of the HUGE trees was an experience in and of itself, but the best part was that we got there ourselves -- by the self-climbing gear and by physically climbing through the branches. The view is unlike anything else I've done: beautiful! Leo and Matt were superb instructors: kind, patient, and fun. I highly recommend this.
