Tree Canopy Climbing on Lopez Island

Overview
Come experience the only old-growth tree climbing activity in the State of Washington and create some unforgettable memories. This is your chance to do something not even .1% of the population has done, but now you can. In small-groups climb together on 1-4 trees between 100 and 200 feet high, depending on your athletic level. Some of the trees are even rare old-growth trees. See the unique perspective above the canopy and feel what it's like to be eye level with an eagle as you climb/swing around like a monkey through the open air and catch branches, while safely harnessed by rope. Climb your way up some of the tallest trees in the world to amazing views of the upper canopy, mountains, and ocean. Connect to nature like you have never done before, beyond the trail.

During this activity you will explore the special ecology of old-growth trees and its importance in our environment and so much more.

Groups larger than 6 people, please contact us directly.

Leo was so accommodating and friendly. Having never canopy climbed before my husband was a little nervous but he got to practice a little before hand and then they hiked about 5 min into the trees and he said it was amazing! If you get a chance to do anything in/near Seattle make a point to do this!

We had a great time climbing with Leo! He was very patient and knowledgeable. And we both felt super safe. It's definitely a great workout too -- two days later and I'm still feeling it! We were the only two in our group, so we got to go at our own pace and climb three trees (including the practice tree). The views were great, and we were so much higher up than I ever thought I could climb. Truly a once in a lifetime experience!

My family opted for a private tour and I would highly recommend it. Our guide, Matt, was patient, kind and inspired confidence in this intimidating activity. He took the time to be sure we all understood how the equipment worked and made sure we felt safe throughout. As a bonus, Matt is an environmental scientist who explained much about the park's flora as we walked to the tree we would climb.
