Most friendly well informed tour guide. We had our tour adapted in order to see each of the parts of Kentucky horse culture that fit our personalities and interests, from petting baby foals, to understanding the horse auction process to even seeing horse orthopedic surgery. Such a cool experience with a tour guide who was enthusiastic about everything about horses and genuinely interested in sharing his love for the Lexington Kentucky horse culture. We would absolutely recommend a tour if you're in the area.

Our group of 3 met up with our tour host, Shawn Washington in the parking area at the Kentucky Horse Park. We boarded the bus with about 20 others and our adventures began. Mr. Washington gave us a brief history of Lexington's vast horse farms, as he drove us to various farms. At each stop we were escorted to the magnificent horse barns and were greeted by their attendants and allowed to view selected areas, tour horse barns and even pet and give "treats" to some of the horses in their stalls. We visited The Wallace Station Bakery for a quick tour break and could purchase our own treats, too! One of our final stops was to visit a working Tobacco Barn, located at the edge of a farm. It was very interesting to see the actual hanging bundles of raw tobacco and hear his stories about that process. Our tour lasted about 3 hours, and did include a good bit of walking, so be sure and wear practical walking shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather. We had great weather for the tour, mild temps and light breezes kept us comfortable, but I was glad I had worn my light jacket, too. I would certainly recommend this tour to any person or family interested in horses and the Lexington area!

so glad we booked with shaun..he definitely has the personality for this job..he knew all of the workers on the farm and it appeared that they liked him as much as we did..he had his favorite horses who as soon as they heard his voice started shaking their heads up and down..we fed them treats and learned of their family tree!..he had some enjoyable stories to share as he grew up here...glad we went on this tour..you won't be disappointed!
