Ziploc bags should be used for cell phones or cameras that are not waterproof

We loved this activity. Brian our guide was great - very knowledgeable, entertaining and we could tell how much he loved Hawaii. He was very concerned about everyone's safety and took time to assist the slower hikers. We actually wore our hiking shoes instead of water shoes and were very glad we did as the the hike included rocky wet areas and water crossings that were rocky underneath. The people having the hardest time were the ones that wore open toed sandals such as Tivas. It was a beautiful day and the waterfall was gorgeous. This activity is about 5-6 hours long - so plan accordingly, as you cannot rush out.

This was such a fun thing to do! We did the early morning run (meet up at 7am) and the river and the hiking path were not crowded. As we came back there was a lot more people, so I strongly suggest getting up early! It was so magical to go up that gorgeous river, and then to just stroll around in the jungle to end up swimming under the waterfall! Our guide, Jason (I think) was super easy going and helpful. He gave us all sorts of information about landmarks, movie history, plants… This is not a ritzy trip, no special accommodations or fancy lunch. There were also no kids, which for us is a good thing. I think it’s important to know that, although overall it is an easy hike, there are a few tricky spots, muddy/slippery stones to walk around and over, and obstacle to climb over/under. If you have back or leg issues, that might not be for you. Information was clear, meet up was easy to find, instructions were helpful and clear. Just a wonderful experience all around!

I wish I could have gone, but I developed a virus and did not want to infect anyone else. I gave the company over four hours notice by phone. Hopefully, they will be kind enough to refund our money.
