MoMA has nothing but masterpieces but the Whitney is far more representative of Ameridcan art. It is fascinating to view the evolution of modern American art as represented in the Whitney's collection. The gallery space is clean and well lit. Tghe Whirtney is well worth a visit in its new location.

This was such a nice suprise, the museum had just reopened and was just a amazing! The collection has Warhol, Johns,Pollock,Rothko,Newman,Lichtenstein,Rauchenberg etc.. etc.. etc.. a true trip in american greatness- for art lovers its just perfect!

The Whitney has moved downtown, right at the beginning of the High Line. The museum has been beautifully designed with several outdoor balconies and seated indoor areas for expansive views of the surrounding city and beyond. To be honest, I wasn't captivated by the collection and the gift shop needs a lot of improvement (way too small, paltry selection). I've heard the restaurant is quite good, but we didn't eat there.
