This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Our tour with Sam was absolutely AMAZING! From pickup to drop off, my family and I found the tour captivating and Sam just fantastic. You could tell how passionate she is about the work she does, the dogs, sharing Dallas’ legacy, and preparing for her own Iditarod. We came in knowing very little about mushing and the Iditarod and left fans. I can’t wait to cheer her on in 2025! Definitely a highlight of our time in Alaska. Thank you so much, Sam!!!

We didn't know what to expect never having even seen mushing before except on TV. What a fabulous experience we had with Jessica, Dallas and the crew. We never expected 6 time Iditarod champion Dallas Seavey to be our bus driver from the pick up point. He was so humble, he would only admit that he had participated in several Iditarod races when asked by a fellow participant! We knew the day would be special from that point on. His whole operation is first class and ingenious at the same time. With over 100 dogs in his kennels, Dallas has created a wonderful tourist attraction with wheeled dog sleds for summer training (and a whole lot of fun!), built in social interaction for the dogs and a heart warming opportunity to play with and socialize with puppies. Participating in this excursion really gave us an appreciation for the strength, beauty and stamina of these phenomenal animals as well as taught us a little about the historic mode of winter travel in the far north. Jessica was a wealth of knowledge and is working on becoming certified to participate in the Iditarod at some point in the future. Flying to a glacier to do actual sledding on snow would have been fun, but very expensive (Also an option from AK Tours). This half day tour is more than worth the price of admission!

Chloe was our Mush guide and she is absolutely fabulous! So knowledgeable so friendly, took her time with explaining all and anything about dog mushing! She made it so very fun!!!
