This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Absolutely outstanding experience from a seasoned veteran dog sledder. As great as riding dog sled was, the real experience was in learning about the sport and how well the dogs are taken care of. Could not be any happier with the outcome and how hospitable the team was.

LOVED IT! Thrilling ride with the dogs, got to meet the puppies and learn more about the history of racing. The handlers obviously love what they do and LOVE the dogs - well taken care of and the dogs love what they do. Had a great time and would highly recommend it to anyone - we did it in the Fall but I think this would be so much more fun in the snow!!!

Our family of 4 had a GREAT time at AK Sled Dog Tours today! We were initially bummed that we wouldn’t be able to dogsled with visiting AK for “fall” vs. summer / winter. This was a great experience with the cart track, meeting the dogs / puppies, and learning about dog sledding and the Iditarod. Chad, Sean and the other guides were fantastic. I would definitely recommend… especially for a family who loves animals:)
