The Mardi Gras School of Cooking does small, intimate hands-on classes in the French Quarter. Classes are more like a dinner party with friends. Feel welcomed into our kitchens by the Chefs themselves. From the moment you arrive until you roll out the door our Chefs are friendly, personable and entertaining. Not to mention their culinary skills are impeccable.

Our minimum class size is 2 people. A solo traveler may join an already scheduled class. Call us to hear about the available classes.

For parties of 8 or more, you will have to contact us directly to book. We have questions.

Did this for our 3 year anniversary and it was the best experience here so far. Actual one on one class cooking from scratch and drinks included with chef Marc! Learned to cook shrimp ettouffe, chicken and andouille gumbo, & banana foster. He was down to earth and fun and made this experience enjoyable with other folks. Had 7 of us total. This is a must! He inspired us to take cooking classes when we tour other cities now.

My husband and I had a fabulous time learning to cook Cajun with Chef David. We were really engaged listening to his historical knowledge of New Orleans and Louisiana food and culture. The shrimp etouffee was a stand-out dish, the hands-on instructions on how to make the dish were easy to follow and absolutely delicious to eat - I can't wait to replicate it at home! This is a great way to understand cuisine in New Orleans before you hit the restaurants.

We had a very good experience and learned quite a bit! It was great value for the price, and even our 11 year old had a good time. The gumbo and etouffe we cooked were so delicious! Chef was very lovely with his information and teaching. Highly recommend!
