Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

Very organized, Very knowledgeable, excellent tour!! The nor’easter was not a deterrence at all!! Highly recommmend Black Cat Tours!!!

We took this tour on Thursday, Oct 25 and while there were quite a few people in our group, it wasn't nearly as large as some of the other tours we saw walking around. It was the perfect size. Daniel was great, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and the portable microphone he had made sure that everyone heard everything he said no matter where they were in the group (front of pack or at the back). I highly recommend this tour as another fun way of seeing/hearing about the spooky side of Salem!
