Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

Excellent tour! Daniel knows his history and he shares that plus the spooky bits included. If you want true history, this is the tour for you!

I was in Salem with friends and after all of the Witch Trial tours we were looking for something different and spooky to do at night. We found it at Black Cat tours. We took the nighttime tour with Daniel and had such a good time. He took us walking around Salem while telling stories of haunted happenings around the town. He was very informative about the history of Salem, and told the stories in an interesting, fun way. I highly recommend this tour!

Our tour was fantastic! We had a smaller group and Daniel made it very interactive and personal, and out of the many ghosts tour we have taken made it easily our favorite! He was very informative and very practical in his delivery to make it interesting, chilling and not at all hoaky. Thank you!
