Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

Our guide, Daniel, was exceptionally fun and informative. He provided us with fun historical facts and some spooky tales. The next time we come back with the rest of our family, will defiantly have them experience this tour! Big thanks!

We worked with Dan to have a personalized tour as part of our friend’s bachelorette weekend! Dan was great to work with leading up to the tour and the tour itself was wonderful! Dan was knowledgeable, entertaining, and tailored the tour to the bride’s interests! He even was our group photographer. We will certainly be using Black Cat tours again and recommending it to all of our friends!

Daniel our guide was outstanding. He was friendly and very knowledgable. I have to apologize to him as he deserved a bigger tip but I had what i had then just one large bill. The story telling method he used and delivery made for a great experience. One of the best ghost tours I have been on anywhere. You cover a nice size section of Salem with stories that vary. At end of tour i asked a few question and he answered them. I recommend asking him about Houdini as he had a great story for him. Would do that tour again.
