Overview

Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War. We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history. From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

What To Expect

Salem Black Cat Tours

Your guide will meet you at the Axelrod Walkway park at 28 Charter Street, next to the Peabody Essex Museum, located across the street from the Witchcraft Trials Memorial and Old Burying Point Cemetery Welcome Center.

Fantastic ghost tour! Fun, spooky, engaging, and well-researched. During my visit, I tried a historical tour earlier in the day with a different company, where I asked about the name of the Native people who lived on the land before the colonists, but that guide couldn't tell me anything. The Black Cat ghost-tour guide could name the tribe, and offer other key details! I was very impressed! All around a great tour, 13/10 would recommend!!!

Very informative. Not to spooky but spooky enough. Had a good time even in the rain. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable.

This is the second time we have done this tour with Daniel. It was very fun and informative. We learned different things this time compared to the first time. He does a fantastic job sharing history as well as personal ghost stories. I would highly recommend this tour.
